Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
-Proverbs 3:27

Welcome to the New Centurion Civil Society Initiative web page. Our goal: building community and establishing relationships with people who care about the future of Detroit and its neighboring communities. We do it through study and symposiums, but also through civic engagement and volunteerism. We aim to create social capital. We will launch a dialogue, and projects, to build civil society which is marked by high levels of cooperation, civic engagement, volunteerism, and private initiative.

Our 2013 Charities of Choice: mentoring children and adults to read and improve their academic performance, and developing our own “Build-Train-Beautify” neighborhood renewal program.

In this summer of 2013, we will launch a blog, and are interested in promoting authors and commentators form the Right, Center and Left, who share an interest in building social capital, civil society, and have a communitarian sensibility. Please leave us a note here and we will be in touch.

Thanks for visiting with us.
